PLEASE NOTE

The 2008 Club AGM will be held at STONELEIGH show.

1300hrs Sun 4th May.

PART 5  APRIL (2001)

9/4/2001

Less than 1 month to go until the Stoneleigh show and the amount of work to do is huge, plus my Covin will need MOT so the chances of making the show are slim. The last few days have been spent on sorting out the poor running and misfire on the engine and after stripping down the whole of the fuel injection system I finally traced the fault to the fuel injection distributor which was causing quite a few problems (see TECHNICAL PAGE for full details) The unit was changed and the engine is now running perfectly so I can now get back to the door and the other tasks.....There might be a chance to make Stoneleigh after all ?

15/4/2001

Well I finally got the passenger door painted and fitted so it's now time for the door hardware to be done....making all the door latch link rods and fitting the door panel and trim.......Here's the pictures so far ..........Including pictures of special guest "TINKER the North East Professor Of Engineering & Transport" (He was a great help to us)

Here we have our special guest "Professor Tinker" from the North East University of Transport, Checking out the engine installation......He said it was "Purr-fect" Professor Tinker inspects my Covin shell for alignment.

21/4/2001

Had a very busy week and put in lots of hours work on my Covin but still lots more to do and I think it could be on the road within 4 to 6 weeks with a little luck. To late for the Stoneleigh show which is only 16 days away.....

Here we have the passenger door all fitted out at last with Porsche trim and even the sound system is working...... View from the front showing the tear drop mirror and rubber trim to sill now fitted......I'm getting there at last.

Professor Tinker getting a pat on the back for a job well done.....My Covin has passed all his tests and he is very pleased with the work so far.

Professor Tinker after his test drive of my Covin, in his own words "The performance was the cats Whiskers"
As you can see it's coming on Looking good but still more to do
26/4/2001 ..Well what can I say......     Been working almost non stop all week until  2am every day to try and get through the jobs list.
