Well, after I finally finished work on the VW Type 3 project Thurs 20/03/08
The owner came to collect it at 10am Thurs morning and he also brought the 66 Beetle as this was the deal for doing the T3 Resto.
Our new 66 Beetle is very much another project and not without a few issues of it's own which is only to be expected from something that's the same age as me

Having said that, on the whole it's in pretty good condition.
I spent most of yesterday re-setting the doors and engine lid so they open and close correctly and they now fit perfectly with the body lines and the car now looks very straight
I've only owned it for 24hrs but so far it requires, Engine, Brakes, some wiring, the usual bodywork rust repairs, much better wing panel fit and painting to bring it to a good standard.
I'm not sure which direction to go with this one and I'm torn between full strip down with nice paint job OR going for the mechanically good and modified but having the RAT/HOODRIDE look and leaving the paint and rust marks here and there
Any comments appreciated
Here's a few pictures of the 66 Bug, the paintwork looks better than it really is here by the way.
At least Fudge seems pleased with it

He likes his VDubs you know

Think the seats could do with a clean

apart from being scruffy they're in very good condition with no rips at all.

Shouldn't there be something in here

While clearing out all the rubbish from inside and having a good poke about I lifted the rear seat out and found this old Mouse nest near Battery

It even had loads of old seed and nut shells inside

The floor looks to be in good shape as it most of the interior but I'll know more during next week when I start pulling it apart to sort out a few of the snapped bolts that hold front/rear wings on
More to follow . . . .
