Hi guys this is going to be a bit cheeky but I need help regarding an Audi TT and Audi dealers charge a bomb just to diagnose it.

So I thought I'd turn to the most knowledgeable enthusiasts I know.

Now I've got the sucking up bit out of the way lol My TT temp gauge seems to jump up in slow moving traffic and then drops once it gets air.
Checked fans they are ok no warning lights on the dash or anything.Coolant is correct level. Cambelt was changed recently along with water pump so thats good.

Any advice or help would be good.

Thanking you guys in advance

Sounds like fans are not cutting in to me.
Only real way to test the fans is to watch them cut in and out at temperature with engine running. Is it doing this ?
What temperature does it go up to in traffic ? It should rise before fans cut in and then drop again and fans will cut out. If it's going into the red then something is wrong if not it sounds normal.

Bit more detail needed here thumbs up

Thanks for the reply guys

Fans are kicking in when the are supposed to. Essentially it is a Golf and a mate of mine who has one says it does go up but mine seems to go uo past the 110 mark it has never hit the red line just yet maybe its my paranoia. The computer still reads 90 degrees but the needle jumps up and down.

Been told it could be the temp sensor because that was a common fault (among many others). I think I would have been better of with a Covin after all. When something needs doing on Covin its okay its part of the relationship.

When its a main manufacture car its not the same fun throwing money at it.

Anyway Thanks Guys
