first i would like to say sorry for not coming to the show i was working on the covin at 6.00am monday morning doing those silly jobs like throttle sticking and other little things i was ready to make a move at about 9.00 when the phone rang and people from north wales wanted to come and see the chevy day van i have for sale, so i ended up staying home working on the covin and waiting for them to come which they did and glad to say they bought it. :smt012 so i will be at the next :smt020 sorry show all finished.also how much are the shirts darren?and in the news in the midlands they are saying somebody won some kind of a well deserved award does anybody know what there on about? :lmao :smt012

Thanks Jeff !, I have just left my thread after leaving a post to find yours which I'm sure you will read.

Your own conversion I have been following closely and is the business. I know with the quality of your work in your pics you know exactly what you are doing but if you currently have the type 3 beam I fear you will see no benefit of your MR2 conversion as the car will be undriveable in that form. I as you probably know am running the 2.2 suby big engine and I think its time for me to go to the front with the box section, grinder and mig in hand. The guys have obviously put countless hours into the new front beam which I applaud loudly.

I am a definate supporter and am on board. :smt012

Regards Paul

Hi Paul, Your preaching to the converted mate re:- the driveability with the type 3 front end. After considering fabricating an unequal wishbone design I'd had success in the past with, converting a formula vee to Monoposto, I was invited to look at David Isles idea. I immediately saw the superiority of the 928 system, jumped on board, and sourced the place where the parts can be obtained from. I think you realise, if you want to use the power you have available, you should do likewise. Regards Jeff

We are on the same wavelength, thats for sure. I started my race career in formula V. Finished up in a formula three car.

Only had a covin since last September so like you other chaps I will make it work, just getting to know it at this stage.

From a personal point of view I would prefer my wisbones all rosejointed to have full adjustment and no rubber bushes at all. (SINGLE SEATER STYLE )

Cheers, this old forum is beginning to light up, Darren will be happy.

Paul
