Hiya folks.Well peterborough was the big test for the covin as it would be a 300 mile round trip and would really put the covin to the test after its year long overhaul. apart from a few glitches it ran perfect. The cooling system i was particually pleased with.It never strayed by 2 degrees centigrade keeping a 89-90 on the digital gauge and that was with taveling at 70+mph most of the way when possible. The only glitch i had was the accelerator pedal wouldnt function and it was on motorway merging section :smt009 Traced it to the throttle cable sleeve. The nut had vibrated loose. On my haste to rectify the problem i must have pushed the bung in the top of the rocker cover out. This resulted in negative vacuum as mr turner called it and the car missing a little at certain revs.Plus it was letting in fumes in the cab so we were all a little gassesd lol.Thankyou for mr turner for spotting it.The return jorney was a breeze and im pretty chuffed with it all in all. :smt016 :smt004

This kit (ferrari 250 gto)amazed me and mark :smt017
IT was actually a 1987 porsche 924s.

The majority of the car was still there underneath including all the running gear and spare wheel well .Inside the dash and clocks were still present too.
The car was built in 2007 and the owner was selling it for 16995.

On the saturday there was
micheal dykes(mr paperazi) and janet
Mark and sharron
chriss and sarah
me toni and maisey
The weather wasnt the best but we got through and it was cozy in the gazebo.

It was intersesting to see the difference in the covins when we all did a little swop and had a drive around the showground in each others covins

micheal, mark, chriss and toni had a drive of mine followed by myself driving chrisses .i then drove marks with chriss and the look of chrisses face when he saw sarah driving his covin when we were in marks covin was priceless :lmao .It was captured on video so will wait for mr dykes footage .
Marks covin i would say is quite a motor. His seats are softer than mine lol the engine you can hear inside the cab is a beast and just wants to go.His brakes are phenominal and would put you through the screen if not carefull lol:smt016
Chriss covin is very user freindly. It feels softly sprung with a nice ride, the gearchange is presice ,unlike mine lol and it feels more spacious and uncluttered inside.Very nice indeed

Just a shame weather wasnt better but you take a chance.
Oh yes forgot about the decibel meter :smt009 :lmao
took the decibel meter and messured covins inside at tickover.

COVIN------------FRONT(DASH)-------------REAR(SEATS)
MINE------------- 67DECIBELS---------------67--------

MARKS--------------64---------------------------64---

CHRIS---------------61---------------------------71

So mine needs a little more work.I think the exhaust is the biggest factor.
Marks covin has plenty of soundproofing and chriss covin was quietest at the front but a little noisier at rear.Chris did state he had no sound proofing at rear.Mark has the decibel meter to carry on a full test on his covin.

Great pictures but there's not a single Covin to be seen :smt017 What's going on there ? Come on... Get em posted :smt016

Great news on the test drives of each others Covins. We should do this much more often, and Danny, I know exactly what you mean about Marks brakes, I couldn't get over how good they were either when I drove his Covin at Harrogate a few years ago :smt012

Sound test was very interesting. Be good to see the results of Marks road test :smt003

By the way, I've moved it to the TECHNICAL section and made it a sticky :smt003
