Does anyone know if i can get an engine cover that looks like this only in fibreglass ?

Think you'd probably have to make one from an old engine lid Andy to get it exactly the same as the one pictured :smt017

This car belongs to Jack Olsen--quite well known in Porsche circles.
Heres all the info---

They have a choice of tails/engine lids and change to suit the occasion

Thanks for the welcome--I had a chuckle when I saw my grading as
"Dreamer'---you got that right!
I found this forum from a link off the Pelicanparts site---I'm afraid the Porsche Purists dont like anything that isnt original!
I have a '76 911 2.7,owned for 12 years,not driven for last 10!
Its the Leprosy model that the 'Experts' reckon is the worst Porsche ever made--still, its mine and I might get it running this summer.
Keep up the good work Guys----not all Porshe owners are w***ers!!

Kia ora bobgod,
You are one of the few exceptions to the 'rule' of Porsche owners as many folks on this site can tell you some stories about bumping into Porsche owners at shows!

Gav.

:smt012 yep gav we wont go into that one eh :lmao very welcome bobgod porsche or no porsche covin or non covin we dont descriminate. well not much anyway, a 2.7 911 eh did have one of them engines in mine many moons ago. any pics of her when she was mobile matey still a great car, and dont listen to to many of the purists. in the real world were all enjoy cars what ever the pedigree, i think its a case of everyone has there own bag. and covins are ours,
the thing with covins you can do anything to them without having the thought of butchering up a classic porsche 911 on your mind of which i have the utmost respect for in any guise, or year.

So far I've only experienced positive interest from real Porsche owners. When I say its not a real one but a replica with a Golf GTi engine its almost as if they don't believe me as their attitude does not change at all. I guess I'm just lucky I haven't met any of the tosser types yet! On the other hand I can't stand the scrawny baseball cap wearing scrats in their souped up chavrolets (lowered citroen saxos or vauxhall corsas with chrome petrol caps and blue fairy lights under the bumpers) who somehow think that kit cars are less credible than their over blinged underpowered chaviots as they are constantly telling us on sites like pistonheads. :smt013
