sorry for the pic's being so small, here's a few of the roll cage, as i said before, at the momment the roll cage is purley cosmetic as the mounting points are only into the fibre glass body and not into the chassis, as i wnted, but this could be done by simply welding in mounting plates before hand - but i need to concentrate on the m.o.t and deal with other bits at a later date .

thanks again for the words of encouragement!!!! :smt001

Got a few more pics done, had to shift the car round to my parents ( that engine ...... seems to wake all my neighbours for about mile radius!!!) at least over at my parents they're not my neighbours :smt002

Eeeek, see what you mean about the vague steering, that thing is bloody scary, and that bloody accelerator pedal..... got stuck again!!! 7500rpm!!!!! in first. all in all, a few bits of tweaking to do and sort out then the m.o.t ( that leaves clutch cable, wheel spacers, accelerator cable, calibrate speedo, add more weight then i could possibly imagine to the front, tidy up the fuel lines and possibly some other lil bits........hmmmmmm weekend worth???? :smt012

With all those gadgets at the front, I wouldn't be suprised if there was's a camera near that gauge showing it on the console screen. (hint, hint):smt003

You really have to sort the spacers mate.

Steve, I would imagine the Gauge under the engine lid is to measure Boost pressure and very usefull to have there for setting things up on the engine etc. I fit a Rev counter in my engine bay which is great for tuning etc.... Tricks of the trade m8 :smt012

Ivan... What can I say m8 :smt004 That's looking GREAT :smt012
Welcome to the world of Covins Vague steering :lmao Make sure you set the Toe correctly (4mm to 6mm of Toe-in works best) and get some weight into the front. Have a read through MAKE YOUR COVIN HANDLE WELL
Another trick is to add a 4mm shim to each side of the lower front beam mount to bring the Castor angle back after lowering. This should also improve the steering :smt012

Keep it up and look forward to seeing more updates soon.

thanks guys, it's just a cheap boost gauge hanging in the engine bay, as darren says it is vital to tune the engine, hence the gauge built into the cap on the header (possibly the best lil gizmo i've seen in years!!) Just need to measure the two most important parts temp and pressure. don't want to cook an engine :smt009 I'm trying to see if i can get a digital tacho in the engine bay??? any ideas??

funny you say about the camera, i've got a small ccd waterproof one, i was going to mount it or the rear bumper???

at this rate i might make it to stoneleigh ?? ( touch wood)

Got a pack of shims ready for the beam hopefully that'll help, definately need a shed load of weight upfont though, used all the bloody space for the audio sat nav stuff :smt005 .

and money has not been the ruling issue, must be close

the time to spend on it, and would rather sell to
someone who will appreciate rather then rush to finish

say about 99% finished, comes with personal plate as
well. Well known throughout the covin club, as alot
of the mods were the first to be seen on the club site
including the subaru engine.

Let me know what you think. Regards Ivan

Hello all !!!!!!

sorry it's taken ages to get back to you guys............. we'll i still have the covin, and am back in the u.k for a while at least :smt001

Had the bad news when the covin was stolen of my drive way, and had bits and pieces striped from the car :smt009 :smt005

Anyway back together now yipee!!!!!! but still on going project. still not totally sure at what point i'm going to sell, but i do enjoy building it up still............. even more so now, that i have'nt worked on it for so long and to get back to it is always a joy :smt012

But thankfully is still an on-going project. I'll have to crack the camera out again............. as i've done some very small modifications :smt002

hydraulic clutch with servo and pedal set.
engine tin wear for moving air over the engine and inter cooler properly.
Gettin some more heat out of the heater and electric demist unit.
