Afternoon all. Here's my wifes 1962 Vespa VNB , which she was given by her dad, as a bare chassis, and several boxes of bits. It started life as a 6v 125cc, but now has a 12v, 200cc engine, with electronic ignition. The plan is to get her on the road, iron out any glitches, then over winter, strip her down again, and have her painted properly, as I'm not happy with the current paintjob.

I've never really been into the whole Vespa/Lambretta scene, as this was more my thing.

But, my father in law was diagnosed with Parkinsons last year, and had just started building the Vespa, and due to his condition, isn't able to finish her, which is where I came into it. My wife is also a biker, having owned an RC30, GPZ 500, CBR600 and an SV650 in the past, so I'm putting it back together, and she's going to ride it !

We did actually have a modern 125 scoot some years ago ;

But for the life of me, I can't remember why ?

Just a quick update....... I just couldn't put the far from perfect paintwork out of my mind, so took the decision to strip her right back to the frame, and get it done again, hopefully to a much higher standard :smt001

As soon as she's done, the Covin hunt begins :smt003

i ran around on a Vespa 125cc in Lanzarote for ages.
Yours is a classic.
I think its a "small frame" vespa like mine was.
I tuned the nuts out of it adding a malossi 135cc head,barrel and piston kit with massive ports.
Then a 26mm delorto carb, and a home made exhaust made from motocross pipes. I ditched the spare wheel and ran the exhaust like a snake in the spare wheel space.
There was a scotish chap who was amazing at tuning and racing them called, "Norrie Kerr"
He did a tuning manual which was very informative!
It went like stink and sounded like a motocross bike.

This one will be fitted with a 200cc engine from a later PX model. Shame we don't have the original, as I'd prefer it's numbers to match. I've also changed the 8" wheels for 10's, which should make it ride a bit better over our delightfully maintained roads :smt002
