Think we need to get back on track here :lmao

Right, been doing a few more jobs on the 66 :smt009

Serviced the rear brakes and hub/bearings, fitted new brake shoes, renewed brake pipes & flexi's
Image

Set the valve clearence which was way out. All valves were much to tight. Look how clean those heads are. Not bad for over 40 years old :smt003
Image

Checked the front brakes and just as well really... Shouldn't there be some other bits in here :smt017
Image

Now, this was a slight problem as I didn't get any new adjusters for the shoes, however, I did have some old Type 3 drums that Mark gave me a few years ago :smt003
Image

They might be bigger drums etc but the adjusters were exactly the same :smt004 Result
Image

New Brake shoes, new springs/clips, new cylinder, new flexi & recycled T3 adjusters means the brakes will now work.
Image

Image

Got rid of the rotten black paint on the wheels and cleaned them up then sprayed them silver with a final top coat of lacquer

After

Rear suspension still needs to settle down a bit but I think it looks better than it did

More to follow.

Oh yes, good one isn't it :smt003 I couldn't beleive it when I saw the inside of the front drum :smt119 Still got the drivers side front to do, steering damper to change and make some bushes for the front shocks.
Got given a gearstick as well, so I was able to test all the gears last night and everything seems ok there.
Should be ready for a test drive/blast up the street at the weekend :smt012

Cheers guys :smt003

It has been a rather pleasant job so far :smt002

Doing quite well on the budget as well. I've only spent about £30 on parts which includes . . .
1200 Engine, front brakes, full set of flexi hoses, front shock absorbers, gearstick, wiper motor, carb, coil, distributor, front & rear engine tinware, generator & fan housing, fuel gauge, heater pipes, heater clamps, fuel hose, horn, H4 headlight bulbs & some wheel paint :smt004
It's great when you can cash in on parts for past and future favours isn't it :smt012 :smt019
